The 7th Edition is now out of print, as of August 2007.
All 2,500 copies have been sold to nonprofit organizations, libraries, consultants and others throughout Pennsylvania, and we hope you may be able to locate a copy for reference purposes. At this time we do NOT anticipate publishing an 8th Edition, as all efforts are directed toward updating, expanding and maintaining PENNSYLVANIA FOUNDATIONS ONLINE with current data to profiles.

USERS' GUIDE

Compiling
the 7th Edition's detailed and comprehensive information required
"mining data" from thousands of IRS Forms 990-PF, the annual
"tax return" filed by foundations, and several thousand hours
of research and editing time. About 98% of the fiscal/grants
data is 2001 or 2000, as well as some 2002. Over 75% of profiles
include information about giving priorities/policies and application
guidelines which was provided directly by the foundations and
often not available in other publications.
For last minute corrections or updates, nearly all draft profile-entries
were reviewed prior to publication by foundation administrators.
Since 1978, when the 1st Edition was published, the Directory
of Pennsylvania Foundations has been researched,
compiled and edited by S. Damon Kletzien. Throughout these 25
years, the directory has been widely praised as Pennsylvania's
"foundation bible," the premier reference publication for foundation
grantseekers in the Commonwealth.
